After a long hiatus the Unitarian Universalist Association has undertaken the project to review Article II of the bylaws that concern our Principles and Purposes, including the First Principle. They have established an Article II Commission. The hope of this work is to see how Unitarian Universalists can best covenant with all of life.

Doesn't the 7th principle "Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part" cover it and isn't it in conflict with our current first principle as it stand?
ReplyDeleteWould it be redundant to change the first principle and have the 7th?
Seems to it would be clearer and less redundant to combine them:
"Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part, and the inherent worth and dignity of every being.”
All life treasure its existence ,can we respect that? Respecting All life is my infallible guide ,there is no place I can hide from it.
